Welcome to the 41st issue of The Horseman’s Gazette, a quarterly video-series that enables you to watch and learn from some of the most talented horsemen and -women working with horses today.
The primary goal of The Horseman’s Gazette is education. We know that some concepts and fundamental exercises are better taught by demonstration. For viewers this is a chance to learn from clinicians and cowboys as they work with their own horses, at their own pace. Becoming a better horseman is a life-long process, and if you are serious about becoming the best you can be, now you can take advantage of having access to some of the best in the horse world.

In this segment Jim Hicks demonstrates how he introduces the concept and talks the viewer through how to introduce this moment while keeping, and improving the quality of movement backward. The biggest challenge is getting started, and he offers great strategies for beginning this movement.
