Product Description
In this latest DVD offering of vintage footage, Tom directs Bryan Neubert in the starting of two young horses at one of his clinics. Tom offers suggestions for Bryan and comments on what he sees is taking place. He mentions several times that the learning that will take place for people will be when they go home and spend time with their own horses; the clinic is an opportunity to be exposed to some new ideas. We hope that this footage will offer you some exposure to new ideas and that you can incorporate into your approach to horses a part of Tom’s unique ability to see what was taking place within horses and people together with some of his patience and humor.
Next Harry Whitney rides a horse through obstacles: tires on the ground and a bridge. This will expose you to a way to approach obstacles and an idea of the learning that can take place when approaching something new. The DVD closes with a conversation between Tom and Harry about “approaches.” Listen and think about the situations they are visiting about. You will find some great gems in their exchanges. Enjoy this opportunity to spend some time with Tom. We are sure this exposure to his way of teaching and helping people and horses will give you some good ideas to blend into your life.
Viewer Note: There are moments of sound and video that are less than perfect. For true students of horsemanship those moments can hardly distract from the learning taking place with the horses and students. Please enjoy these teachable moments with Tom.

Tom Dorrance is another horsemen I missed the boat on being able to ride and learn directly from. I very much enjoy this DVD.

A thought provoking Tom Dorrance DVD. Definitely one for the training library, as I think you need to watch it again and again to be able to get what Tom is trying to get across. It is a very interesting DVD to watch, although sometimes a bit hard to follow. After you’ve watched it, you find yourself thinking about it later when you’re working your horse, which seems to be what Tom was aiming for as he says that several times over the course of the video.

Thank you so much for releasing this material to all of us. The opportunity to pause, rewind, think, and then watch the interactions again is priceless. It’s like the Cliff Notes for actually riding in a clinic:) Thanks again.

I really enjoyed this DVD. Books and articles are great, but hearing the advice in Tom’s own voice is really helpful. The way Tom delivers his feedback or guidance is very purposeful in the timing and feel he uses with his voice and words. I absolutely love seeing the old footage of Harry Whitney. Harry’s voice is also one of a kind. I agree with the previous review that the footage is just as relevant today as it was at the time it was filmed. I am grateful for having such a resource.

Another excellent dvd providing insight into Tom Dorrance’s philosophy and methods. The older video footage of Bryan Nubert and Harry Whitney is just as relevant now as it was when it was taken. Highly recommended viewing
