CRUCIAL CONFORMATION KNOWLEDGE WHEN BUYING A NEW HORSE: WHAT TO LOOK FOR – AND WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR

Examples for this class have been pulled from Dr. Deb’s files and highlight obvious examples to make learning easy. We’ll also cover some more subtle points that turn out to be easy to detect – once you know just where to look.

This class definitely teaches that you have to look the gift horse in the mouth – and in several other places, too.

Utilizing the anatomical principles detailed in Horse Conformation Principles of Form & Function series Dr. Deb will assess a horse’s suitability for specific disciplines and provide helpful suggestions to the owner for approaches or modifications to training that might benefit or ease the development of their particular horse.

Students will learn to analyze how skeletal structure and muscular development dictate movement biomechanics and influence the horse’s ability to achieve collection and perform various activities effectively. The approach integrates knowledge essential for riders, trainers, owners, and hoof care professionals, emphasizing how correct anatomical information improves judging, training decisions, and horse selection for a successful and enjoyable partnership.

The class was held Thursday December 11th via Zoom starting at 6pm MST.

Please plan on the class lasting up to  two hours. We will visit about the topic then open up for questions and answers from the students.
