Emily and Janet Rose discuss the relocation of the Equus International Film Festival from Dillon to Missoula, and the importance of the festival in raising awareness and understanding of horse welfare issues. They also discuss the selection of speakers for an upcoming conference, the evolution of their annual conference theme, and the origins and growth of Horse Haven, a nonprofit organization that rescues and rehomes horses and mules. Lastly, they discussed the challenges of running an all-volunteer organization, the need for more resources, and the importance of due diligence when adopting a horse.
