Preparing for Ground Driving on the Long Lines with Alice Trindle (43:05)
If you want to connect with your horse on a whole new level, ground driving is the answer! Our guide, Alice Trindle, is no stranger to the long lines. She’s applied her driving skills to everything from giving historic wagon tours in Oregon to feeding wild elk with a team in the snow. Plus, her training in classical work in hand brings precision to her technique. Join us as Alice breaks down what you need to get started, the essential equipment, key safety tips you can’t skip, and a step-by-step guide to your first successful drive.

Lateral Work Progression with Katrin Silva (47:22)
Lateral work can seem intimidating if you are not familiar with the foundation that the more advanced movements are built upon. In this lesson Katrin Silva explores different lateral movements with a very green horse, a more educated horse and on up to a very experienced one. She discusses the progression of lateral movements and how to ride from one to another. Without ego she invites us along to watch and learn from her training horses as they are learning themselves.

Cone Work Exercise with Melanie Taylor, Alicia Byberg and Katrina Teel (44:23)
Regardless of the discipline—whether you ride Western, Dressage, or eventing—the path to success starts with the same universal foundation. In this special segment, Olympic Gold Medalist Melanie Taylor introduces two young horses, just beginning their careers, being worked by her skilled students, Alicia and Katrina. The focus is on fundamental building blocks. You’ll see the crucial work they do both on the ground and in the saddle, using cones and patterns to achieve essential skills: straightness, smooth transitions, even movement to the left and right, accurate canter leads, reliable stops, and effective backing. This is where champions are made. Join Melanie Taylor and her team to reinforce the foundational work every horse needs.
