Roping Exercises with Scott Grosskopf

Excerpt from the Horseman’s Gazette Issue No. 12

Who knew there was math in roping? Montana cowboy Scott Grosskopf talks to us about the angles of roping, which includes not only the angle of your swing, but also the angle of your horse and that of the cow. When these three things are right then you have a high chance of throwing a successful loop. However, things rarely stay at a standstill in the branding pen so you must learn to constantly adjust and manage your angles. With some good timing and a bit of luck, you and your horse will be a pretty handy pair.
