Product Description
In Being With Horses, Nahshon Cook shares with readers, his alternative universe where horses are magicians, miracles-makers, and healers teaching him how to help his students quiet their minds enough to re-awaken their intuition.
With simplicity and inspiring wisdom, Nahshon Cook explores how being with horses can help people learn to find the little pieces of beauty in the broken moments of joy that keep us grounded in life enough to make life worth living.
When not always being OK is OK, people are able to grieve and also sing and dance and remember and offer their own two human hands to the collective piecing together of a more wholistic heart-space of consideration and healing for ourselves, each other, and all life in the earth.
Softcover, 157 pages.

“I’ve found so much joy, and so many lessons to be learned in taking my broken throwaway horses, and piecing them back together again, and seeing what stories they have to share…” Horseman Nahshon Cook shares his joy and lessons learned with his readers from a poetic and sincere heart. I read “Being With Horses” like I would a horse owner’s daily devotional; it was so rich a meal that I consumed only a few pages at a time and then digested what I learned slowly and appreciatively, which provided me the appropriate emotional energy to go out and connect with my horse. A must-read for horse lovers.

What a lovely book to read. It’s so refreshing to find a young person with such care for the horse and their human. Well written, it’s like having a conversation with the author.

A book for the horse lover, with valuable lessons that are excellent applications to the non-horse lovers, lives as well! Love the structure of the chapters and a book that you can’t put down once you start reading! The book is also easily re-readable and you find hidden nuggets in each of the chapters that you read over and over! Highly recommend and a must read!

Using poetry and prose, Nahshon Cook guides the human to discover his/her hidden fears and self-truths. He creates a framework of language to acknowledge the fear, then discard it, and find a calm place. This makes space for listening to the horse and allowing meaningful communication to happen. The horse needs to feel heard, is honest, is present in the moment, and seeks safety and peace. This beautifully written book is an opening to a new relationship with horses and a better understanding of ourselves.

Nahshon Cook’s book Being With Horses is a read filled with poetry, intuition, the pure magic of horses and a down-to-earth, very real understanding of what holds us back in our relationship with horses! It is brilliant!
My first read through and the book is already dog eared. Next time the marker will come out. It will hold a spot on my nightstand with True Unity.

Love this book as it covers areas of horsehumanship like none other. A combination of poet, horseman and philosophy which is much needed in the competitive world of horses. There must be room for Being With Horses as without this component we miss the beauty of what they have to offer. Thank you for sharing this book with us to help alter people’s awareness of the beauty of the relationship we share with this splendid species.
