Stokes-RollingOver-1

Roling Over: Once the horse is traveling nicely around me I will ask him to roll his hindquarters away from me and stop, facing me. As the horse begins this transition, notice how deep the inside hind reaches under as well as how much the back legs cross. Also, notice the change in hand position when asking for this transition. Rolling over, staying on circle when asking a horse to roll his hindquarters, the front feet should remain on or close to the line of the travel, when walking the circle. This sequence of pictures shows the horse moving his hindquarters away, and staying out on the circle, not dropping the shoulder and moving toward me.
