Product Description
“More Than a Bit… O’ Information” has the simple goal of educating the horse owner with good, solid information on bits and bitting and all of the various things that affect your communication through the reins.
This DVD is not an infomercial disguised as information, nor is it about selling or promoting any particular products or brands. Our sole purpose is to help you sort through the myths, misinformation, dogma, and gimmicks so you can have confidence in selecting the right bit! We believe that we’ve compiled the most comprehensive and thorough lecture on bits and bitting, from snaffles to bridle bits, available today.
Who Will This Benefit?
Novices to seasoned pros will learn more than expected, and the biggest benefits will be to their horses. We are consistently told that viewers had no idea how much they didn’t know about bits. Your future rides will be better, armed with this new understanding.
This project is not focused on a single discipline or type of horse. Whether you trail ride, barrel race, just want to understand the Vaquero’s Spade, or are seeking to comprehend the double bridle for the upper levels of dressage, we have tons of great bit information for you. We explain, in depth, the Why and the How. Though we are very thorough, all of the information provided can be readily understood by the average 14 year old. They and anyone else can now make well reasoned adjustments to better suite their personal goals.
Who Is a Part of This Project?
We have received the help and blessings of quite a few recognized experts in various fields. Two DVM Equine Dentists (with a combined 50+ years of practicing dentistry and 100,000+ equine dental exams performed), a human dentist, a Facial Plastic Surgeon who is also a renowned ENT specialist, a PhD’d State Horse Specialist, and 2 speech pathologists have made sure that what is presented is beyond reproach. When we discuss the mechanics of various styles of bits, know that two experienced engineers were involved and made sure the physics and mechanics were spot on. Playing the partridge in a pear tree, a highly regarded bit maker and craftsman was also a source. Rest assured, we got it right, and you’ll know that to be true, as it is all carefully explained and the logic is undeniable.
Why?
Because of these authorities in their various fields, we can present this bits and bitting knowledge as fully vetted. This allows you to be assured that we’re not simply asking you to take some horse trainer’s word for it. Some of what we’ll be presenting will be contrary to certain beliefs and teachings that are, unfortunately, misinformation. Most of the material is hard, proven science. A few inferences are not yet proven, but are based on logical assertions, informed by a specialist’s experience. We’ll make it clear when the information is absolute fact, logical inference, or merely an expert’s opinion. Ultimately, we are simply making a well reasoned case. How you choose to proceed is up to you. We do think our version of Bitology is very difficult to argue with and will make absolute sense to you.
How?
Daniel completed months of research, years really. He then consulted experts to even more fully understand the subject before tackling this project. Daniel is also a talented teacher. He is well known for being able to break complicated subjects down and make them understandable and keep you engaged.
Keenly aware of the psychology of learning, Daniel has no hesitation when embarrassing himself may help you to learn. A lesson and a picture burned into your psyche are unforgettable. Daniel breaks down and illustrates each point, using vivid imagery, props, common examples, and his trusty white board.
We are extremely careful, even with this technical subject, to keep the information from being intimidating. We will get into the mechanics and physics, but none of it is above a high school level. You will be exposed to the relevant anatomy, but we won’t be using lots of technical jargon. It will all be made simple and easy to digest. There will also be a fair bit of humor injected throughout so that none of us get too bored.
