Although I always loved horses, the path of my life was far from the world of horse. I began reading the writings of various Natural Horsemen and slowly learned about horse in my mid-sixties. Each Horseman referred to Tom and Bill Dorrance and Ray Hunt with much respect because each of them understood horse and shared their insights with others who worked with horses. As a result, I was curious to seek out more about them and since I am a visual learner, I discovered, “Ray Hunt Appreciation Clinic” DVD. In this video, Ray Hunt, seated on his own horse outside of the round pen, encourages and offers suggestions to his grandchildren as they start colts from the ground up, inside the round pen. (I am learning horse from the ground up also.). It shows how all the horses are different and how each grandchild has their own style of starting the colt each was assigned. This is awesome! It shows various ways to connect with a horse while showing Ray Hunt doing what he loves in life; the respect he conveys and the respect shown to him by all those who attended this Appreciation Clinic. This DVD is a special treasure!
